Retirement & Layup Horse Boarding
A good life for retired show horses, and a quiet, consistent place for horses coming back from injury. In Sonoma County, a short drive from Marin.
Retirement boarding
Care that fits an older horse
We love retirees and give them the attention they deserve. Many older show horses still prefer barn life with daily grooming; others are happiest living outside in a paddock, alone or with friends. We offer the full range, and we’ll help you choose what suits your horse.
Staff watch every horse daily, so small changes in appetite, weight or movement get noticed early. Feeding and supplements are tailored to each horse, and we coordinate with your vet and farrier.

Retirees
Barn life or paddock life
Retirees can live in a stall with daily turnout and grooming, or out in a paddock with shelter. Turnout is matched to each horse: on their own, with a bonded buddy, or in a small group.
Good drainage and all-weather footing keep most paddocks usable through the winter, so older horses keep moving even after heavy rain.
Layup & rehab
Built for horses coming back from injury
Our custom 16-stall barn was designed with rehab horses in mind: padded floors, heated wash racks and several larger 12′ × 16′ stalls.
We follow your veterinary team’s plan for stall rest, controlled exercise and medication. The Equineciser (often called a Eurociser) gives measured, low-impact work as horses return to riding, and the covered arena means rehab schedules don’t stop for the weather.

“Jaz Creek provided perfectly suited accommodations for all four of my horses, ranging from special-needs bonded retirees to both English and western show horses. Immaculate stalls, good quality hay, grass pastures and superb staff make it the best boarding facility I’ve ever experienced.”
