Toulon- By one of the hot sires of the moment ‘Heartbreaker’ who jumped at top level under Peter Geerink, finishing 4th in the prestigious Aachen GP and now a top sire of the likes of ‘Action Breaker’ (Sergio Alvarez Moya) and ‘Topinampour’ (Penelope Leprevost) etc and becoming a sire of sires through the likes of ‘Quasimodo v/d Molendreef’ sire of Scott Brash’s star ‘Hello Sanctos’……… His dam ‘Nikita’ is a grand daughter of the great Alme. She also produced four other horses who jumped 1m40 or higher. One of them ‘Vancouver d’Auvray’ (Toulon’s full brother) had multiple top 5 finishes in 1m50 classes at the biggest 5 star shows for Bernardo Alves.
Toulon jumped to the very elite level under the saddle of Hubert Bourdy, winning amongst others the 5 star GCT GP of Sao Paula, 2nd in the 5 star GP of Calgary, 4th in the 5 star GP of Valkenswaard and 5th in the 5 star GP of Arezzo all in 2007. He was 5 th in the 5 star GP of Brussles in 2006.
Safira’s sire, Caretello B, has proven himself both in sport and in breeding. He is described as an “impressive stallion with immense jumping power, a top producer and glowing winner, successful in the sport and of enormous importance as a producer.” He showed successfully at an international level, was named ‘Stallion of the Year’ in 2004, has sired 8 approved sons to date, and is one of the most sought-after stallions in South Germany. The sire of Caretello B, Caretino, is one of the most successful stallions of the Holstein breed. After a very prolific career as a sport horse Caretino has to date sired more than 20 approved sons and many valuable mares. Caretello’s dam, Victoria 5, out of Calypso IV, has made a name for herself as a sport horse of international acclaim.
Safira’s damsire, Acord I, the first of the 3 famous approved stallion brothers by Ahorn Z, jumped internationally for the Netherlands before being exported to the USA. Ridden by California Grand Prix rider, Hap Hansen, Acord I was the top horse in the West Coast World Cup League in 1993/94 and qualified for the World Cup Finals in Sweden. Ahorn Z was a large-framed bay stallion with good presence and topline, a beautiful face, a good mover and a great jumper through a tight front end. He became an international jumping legend with the Dutch team, competing in many World Cups and Grand Prix.
