De La Foret, or Dino is a 2013 gelding by the privately offered stallion Du Gateau (Laudanum xx x Night and Day xx x Ibrahim). Dino is a solid colt that is out of our mare Safira 9 who showed in the 7 year olds in Europe then came to the US and jumped the Futures (1.45m) and then through the hunter and equitation rings. This boy has a wonderful temperament, and has been lovely to handle from the very beginning. He is will be a big boy and should have the scope and power to jump a huge jump.
Du Gateau has a pedigree of the “who’s who” of Selle Francais blood and has jumped through the 1.60m level with multiple riders including Pius Schwiser, Jaime Azcarraga, Christine Tribble, and Kandi Stewart. He has produced many successful offspring through the breeding program where he privately stands, Grey Fox Farms. His sire Laudanum has been an exemplary success as a stud. The first generation of his offspring, born in 1979, only numbered 13, but amongst which we find the two Grand Prix horses, Nashville 111, and Neurine. In 1980, with only five foals born, there are again two Grand Prix winners, Oéron du Moulin and Odanum (now in Brazil} both of which were still winning in 1995…. Laudanum’s offspring are brave, careful not to touch the jump, with excellent temperaments, qualities which make them admirable national level amateur horses, and with regularly some of Grand Prix level.”
