Cala- 1998 Cassini II x Cantus x Landgraf, owned by Kardel Global Equine
We are so lucky for the opportunity to use Cala in our breeding program! This lovely girl has a pedigree that reads as the who’s who of Holstein. She jumped through the 1.50 with an amateur rider and won her GOV licensing in 2013. She has had two foals in the US by Indoctro who have both been premium with GOV, her 2012 colt was one of the top scoring jumper foals nationwide.
Cala is by Cassini II, a full brother to Cassini I. He was approved in 1996 with a high jumping index and placed third in his jumping ability and had high scores for character and temperament. Unfortunately due to a tendon injury he did not compete in sport so it took him longer to prove himself, but is now he is in great demand because of the talent and quality of his offspring. Cassini II passed away in 2011.
Damsire Cantus, Stem 8777, was a very tall stallion at 16.3hh with enormous presence. He had good stallion expression and heavy neck. Cantus was a very sharp jumper and a very good mover. Cantus, who died far too early in 1994, was a successful sire of showjumpers right from the start. Come On, his Internationally best-known approved son, won many times at Grand Prix and Nationals Cup level. Cantus produced 25 Approved Sons, including Cassius Clay (1992 Viernheim Champion Stallion), Cascavelle, Colbert GTI, Canaletto (both private stallions in Holstein), Cyrano (private stallion Hesse) and Celestial (private stallion Oldenburg). At the 2000 Olympics Games in Sydney, the Cantus son Calvaro won the Silver Medal with the Swizz Team and his Rider Willi Melliger.
